Theory: The One Away Method To Success

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Okay so everybody wants to be fit, be smart, or happy, and even if you can get to those states, you have to realize, its a lot of work to stay there.

If only you could get fit, press pause and then be like that forever.

Well I practice the next best thing, I call it the ’step away method’ sure I could be fit, but I’m not willing to put in the effort to stay that way, so what I do is stay close to being fit. That way if the need ever arises in a few weeks I can be perfect. The same goes with intelligent, I figure why obtain knowledge, as long as I know how to read, if I ever need to be smart I’ll get there the day before. As a final example, I was not funny last Wednesday, that would have been too intense, to much work, but I was ‘almost funny’, so then on Thursday night, I touch back up, and bam I’m back in the game.

(I was intending to make this a standup bit and I might adapt it to do so, but regardless I feel it is an important enough theory that I share it with you)

Ending Early C-A-D

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

I’ve decided to end the run of one a day cartoons, I’ll now publish at once per week probably.

I feel I did okay doing a run of ten. I sure you felt some weren’t up to par, but that’s the thing with the cartoons, I don’t to test them out before I publish them (well, maybe I could, but I don’t).

It basically came to a stand off between the pleasure from creating a cartoon and the effort to make one (my computer has been running slow, increasing the required effort as well).

So I’m curious to hear your favorite/duds:

My Favorites were: Watermelon, Blind, Evolution, and the Moon.

Alas I have some interesting ideas up my sleeve, expect to see some stuff soon.

Remedial Ape - 8

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

Here is the eighth installment

steve taddei funny cartoon ape & evolution

…Sometimes I feel limited by my laziness/in ability to draw, it occurred to me that it would have be better to see the ape in a frustrating situation, perhaps one here he had to do something that required an opposable thumb (which he missing since he “chose” not to evolve). Alas, that didn’t get done, I hope you still enjoyed it.

Edit: This became a long post sorry, another note GrabEvents is currently serving the Greater Vancouver market, we may expand in the future

Okay so I’ve been working on this project for a long long time and it is finally at the point where I am ready to show the world.

To put it simply I’ve been working on a system of event targeting. All you need to do is create a profile and then the system matches and ranks events to you in turn creating a weekly list of what’s happening that will be of interest to you. Simple, effective, and it takes a lot of the thinking out of doing which I love.

There are also a lot of other great features (goto the mainpage and roll your mouse over the name of an event) to explore but it’s all surrounded by the premise of the system finding events for you, thus the tagline ‘let entertainment find you’.

So what am I asking from you, well I’m asking, begging, or telling you to join (whichever produces the most effective results. Then I am asking that you let your friends know, email them, talk to them, I am confident that this is a valuable tool and everyone will enjoy it.

Now of course want to go beyond that, I have t-shirts, a whole flyer/poster campaign, cards, stickers, pins, and handbills all to promote with so I can toss some stuff your way if you’ll help. If you can get a good number of people to join there might just be a tshirt in it for you.

Want to be more involved (event submissions, heave promotions, partnerships, ect) email me at explosivo@gmail.com and we can make it happen.

Right now there is something like 300 events in the system and more being added all the time, so it’s also helpful if whenever you know of an event especially and obscure one to let me know, or submit it.

I have worked hard enough on this project, that I will without questions whore any relationship I have built with you in order to get you to join and tell people. Well okay I’m only slightly kidding.

So yeah I don’t really know what else to say except join, browse the site, tell people, and await your newsletter (or RSS) next Wednesday which will have a list of all the things happening that will entertain you.
